The US CLARITY Act has entered a pivotal phase with the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry scheduling a markup hearing for January 27, 2026. This development signals progress toward establishing clear regulatory frameworks for the cryptocurrency market after prolonged delays.

Senator Tim Scott unveiled an updated draft of the bill, reflecting bipartisan negotiations aimed at addressing market structure concerns. The full text is expected by January 21, providing lawmakers time to review before the decisive committee vote.

Committee Chairman John Boozman emphasized deliberate pacing, noting the additional time was used to reconcile differences and build consensus. The markup session will determine whether the proposal advances to the full Senate floor.
